A few Festive Holiday Cocktails with Artisinal & Artistic Liquors

Holiday Liquors

Blues Cat
Parlor Market’s recipe, Jackson, Mississippi as seen in Garden & Gun Magazine.
Serves 1
3 oz. Cathead Vodka
15 blueberries (frozen or fresh)
5-8 basil leaves
1 oz. lemon juice
1 oz. rosemary infused simple syrup*

Muddle the blueberries and basil leaves together. Combine remaining ingredients, shake, and strain over flaked ice. Garnish with additional blueberries, basil, and freshly grated cinnamon.

*For Rosemary infused simple syrup boil 1 cup water with 1 cup sugar and a few sprigs of rosemary to dissolve. Strain, cool and bottle, keep refrigerated for use all season.

 

Holidays in Manhattan
This classic gets spiced up with a hint of cinnamon & nutmeg in Leigha Hill’s favorite at-home Manhattan for the season!
Serves 1

2 oz. Redemption High-Rye Bourbon
1 oz. Carpano Antico Formula Sweet Vermouth
3 dashes Fee Brothers West India Orange Bitters
1-2 Bourbon Spiced cherries*

Add first 3 ingredients over ice, stir until frost develops on the glass. Let sit for 1 minute. Strain into a cocktail glass and add Bourbon Spiced cherries with a teaspoon of the syrup.

*For Bourbon Spiced Cherries add 2 cups bourbon and 2 tsp sugar, 2 cinnamon sticks and 2 whole nutmegs to a saucepan. simmer until sugar dissolves. Pour over pitted cherries into a glass jar. Cool and let macerate for 1 week. Refrigerate after opening.

 

Holiday Gin Fizz
Bluecoat American Gin gives this cocktail an earthy & spicy character with the refreshing flavors of mint and lime juice… Enjoy!
Serves 1

2 oz. Bluecoat American Gin
Juice of 1 lime
1 Tsp Fresh Cranberry Sauce*
Fresh Mint (un-muddled)
Club Soda

Shake Gin and Lime juice vigorously over ice. Pour into a highball glass with Fresh Cranberry Sauce at the bottom, Stir add mint, top with Club Soda and garnish with a lime twist.

*Cranberry Sauce – Boil 1 bag fresh cranberries with 1 cup orange juice, 2 tblsp raw sugar, grated fresh ginger and orange zest until the berries pop and sauce reduces a bit. Cool completely and Refrigerate before serving.

 

Hot Buttered Rum

Serves 1
Spoon of Brown Sugar
Dash of Cinnamon & Nutmeg
Splash of Vanilla
2 oz. The Kraken Black Spiced Rum
Hot water
1 Tsp slice of Butter

Add ingredients together in a coffee mug and stir to dissolve sugar and butter. Enjoy!
